Yes, I will agree, the colour is a little washed out compared to other monitors, you'll notice it a bit more in Video Games, but Live Action movies you'll hardly notice. Though for the price I figured it was worth a gamble, I mean if it truly was as bad as some people were saying, I would just return it. I had spotted this one being mentioned on a discount deals website but saw quite a few warnings from people about ghosting effects and washed out colours. When laying down cash to get a much needed replacement monitor I got a little paranoid about what to buy, thus began an unusually detailed search for a replacement. I 100% would recommend it to anybody considering moving on to a more 'professional' and responsive gaming experience.
In conclusion, though: This is one of the best screens I've ever used for gaming. All you need is to use the headphones socket and send the monitor out to a pair of speakers and you're absolutely fine.

However, I've just bought myself a bluetooth speaker with a line-in for £30 (The Sharkk Boombox) and it handles it perfectly. The speakers aren't great (as you can expect). It doesn't bother me at all, and most people seem to have little issues with dead pixels. You can expect this from most monitors, especially six months down the line. One dead pixel, but it's not distracting. Inputs and outputs! VGA, HDMI, DVI, headphone socket - all you need.Īs for the cons, there are very few, but they should be stated:
A 24 inch monitor is *just* right for gaming and to watch films on without any complaints. The colour this monitor produces is absolutely gorgeous. As a fan of most Asus products, and for the pricepoint (£120 - refurbished), I couldn't think of a better product to buy for them - and what a good choice it was. I bought this monitor prior to Christmas 2014 to play with my PlayStation 4 and my PC. A bit disappointing so I've knocked it down to three stars as it was a good screen but not robust.

A crack appeared in the middle of the panel without it even being touched. Sadly this screen has packed in after less than two years. I'm tempted to get another to replace my own monitor now (I'm still using an old 900P Sammy so that's so nice I've not wanted to lose it but this is nice enough to tempt me).Įdit. Overall, for the price you can't go wrong with this. He's immediately finding it a step up from his old monitor and can see the difference on Blu Rays and games right away. The picture is bright, colours excellent, contrast great and response times look excellent. We had to play with settings to get the picture as we wanted and this did take a bit of fiddling but once we had it the display was really lovely. Getting it connected up was a breeze, we connected via HDMI to his spare socket on his graphics card and were away. The initial feel of this of a good build quality, it feels solid and sturdy.

The monitor came sensibly boxed with a set of cables in the box (dvi and vga), along with a manual and it's stand.
This has been bought as a new primary screen for my sons PC, his other smaller screen will now be used as a secondary.
